EMERGENZA NEWS FROM EUROPE

MR.BROWN AND LEXXI TOUR GERMANY

Germany, UK — The winners of 1st and 2nd place from the Emergenza Final 2004 have just completed their tour in Germany!

The tour for the two talented young bands was supported by Emergenza Festival and Track1. Mr.Brown, the cute boys from Hamburg, wear red school uniforms, play (they say) ‘beat music’ or ‘guitar pop’ or ‘melodic pop’ or simply ‘rock and roll, life and feelings’ as they prefer. And… Oh yes, they won the Emergenza 2004 international final!

Lexxi from Glasgow (Scotland) dress in black and just opened up for the major act The Soundtrack of our Life in their hometown…Germany could not wait to hear their sleek and passionate rock again, after the amazing shows last October.

METALLICA LAUNCHES NEW DVD THROUGH EMERGENZA

Germany— Metallica chooses Emergenza as one of their platforms to launch their new DVD (Some Kind of Monster, Paramount Pictures) in Germany on the strength of the event's popularity amongst new unsigned bands and fans.

GERMANY— JOACHIM DEUTSCHLAND, the hottest German musician, requests to have an Emergenza band open up for him on tour! The best band among the ones who have sent their demos will be chosen to open up for Joachim on two dates:

2004 FINAL IN SPAIN

SPAIN — March the 2nd Ritmo y Compas in Madrid was completely packed full of fans who wanted to experience Spain’s 2004 final once again – this time in the form of a showcase. Four of the best acts from last year participated in the event: the bands were loud; the fans were louder; the music raged on and nobody got a chance to chill. Automotive and Fate Close Warning offered a steady diet of metal, metal and more metal-indeed, while Fistfuck Supershow (less Fistfuck and more Supershow!) was a load of fun with their mix of rock and funk: great energy. What about Psicotropia? You had to be there to feel the hypnotic effect. They sound like nothing you’ve heard before.

THE GRAND FINAL!

ITALY— One night only. July 10th @Marcon festival. No more separate national finals. In 2005 only one event will see on stage Italy’s 13 best unsigned bands of the year. We still don’t know the names of the headliners, but we know who they were last year: Verdena, Marlene Kuntz, Afterhours, Renga, Meganoidi, Roy Paci e Aretuska, Linea 77 and many others, the best Italian rock talent displayed all in one place!

The night will end with the award ceremony, where prizes will be awarded and, above all, two slots for the Emergenza International Final, which will take place at the Taubertal, in the heart of Germany, from the 12th to 14th August.

EMERGENZA IN PARIS

FRANCE — Paris is the city that boasts some of Emergenza’s most impressive figures, with four full months and close to 60 nights of shows behind us. An average of 500 people attend the shows every night, and this success contributes to the ease with which the bands from Paris make their way into Emergenza’s top ranking bands list - that is the list of bands with the highest audience votes in the whole contest: Bliss (201 votes), Veenasheen (196), Manahuné (196); Sin and Death (185).

NERVOUS NELLIE HIT THE ROAD WITH A NEW RECORD DEAL!

SWEDEN — 2003 Emergenza Festival International winners, Nervous Nellie from Sweden, have signed to German/American label Go-Kart Records and are currently recording their debut album in Stockholm! The release date has been set for September 5th 2005 and will first be released around Europe and of course in Sweden. The band will celebrate the finished album with a European tour this spring in Poland, Germany, Austria and Czech Republic.

Sweden’s 2005 season has been a great success so far: an average of 150 people pack the venues where the Festival takes place in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmoe.
