EMERGENZA NEWS FROM AMERICA
EMERGENZA BAND PLAYS LIVE IN FRONT OF 5 MILLION
TV VIEWERS
New York, USA — The New Jersey Band 20 AMPS,
who participated the Philly festival, performed live and unplugged
in front of 5 millions viewers on Channel 47/Telemundo in New
York.
The setting for this incredible event was Monday
Morning March 7th 2005 when this fantastic rock band with a Hispanic
background, managed to do what no other unsigned band has done
before - that is to play for Telemundo, the national (yes, the
whole United States) Spanish speaking television on the early
morning show. Our 2 brave Emergenza USA Directors, Francesca
and Walter, managed to get up at 3 in the morning after a long
flight from London, to get smothered with make up for the cameras
and talk about the festival in the USA. 20 Amps were the only
band from NY who took part last year, “And we are very
proud of it! It was really worth driving all the way to Philly
to play! Now we are looking forward to do as much promotion as
we can to pave the way for Emergenza when it arrives to NY next
year” Raymundo, the singer, said.
ANOTHER SUCCESS STORY
USA — Emergenza’s entrance into 12
new cities across North America in 2005 has been nothing if not
successful. Emergenza enters March with two full months and close
to 200 nights of shows behind us. While March will see the end
of the eliminatory round in most of the cities, February boasts
some of Emergenza’s most impressive figures. And while
it seems that the eliminatory round just started yesterday, we’ve
already wrapped up in Cleveland, Memphis, Nashville, Pittsburgh,
Milwaukee, Buffalo, Washington, Tampa, Cincinnati, Montreal and
Chicago.
Quarter finals begin immediately in Montreal and
in Chicago, while the other cities will have to wait a few weeks
for the semis to begin. In the meantime our tour managers are
beginning meetings with stores and venues to pave the way for
the festival’s entrance into 24 more cities in US and Canada
next year!
WRITE YOUR ARTICLE AND FLY TO GERMANY!
CANADA — Emergenza Festival and Voir Communications
have chosen the 9 ''journalists'' who will attend the quarterfinal
shows in Montreal at the Kola Note. The lucky nine were chosen
out of 140 people who took part in the contest to win an all
expense paid trip to the Emergenza International Final in Rothenburg
in August 2005. One of these individuals will be joining the
Emergenza team and be the official Voir correspondent from Taubertal!
The quarterfinal start the 10th of March, so come
out and join our reporting enthusiasts. You will be able to see
all their articles on the Voir website and each week the best
article will be published in Voir's Montreal edition. Online
readers will vote for the article they believe to be the most
deserving. The entry with the highest number of votes will be
proclaimed the winner.
