Chris Pennie was born in Lake Hopatcong N.J. May 31, 1977. Twelve years later he received his first drumkit and began taking lessons.

By eighteen, Chris had played in a handful of bands and was attending the prestigious Berklee College of Music, where he declared drums his primary instrument, and studied music synthesis.

After returning home from Berklee, Chris and guitarist Ben Weinman formed the Dillinger Escape Plan in the spring of 1997. Dillinger has worked with the best in the industry and has received critical acclaim across the world.
